Information About Pieces
Pawn
* The pawn is the most basic piece in chess.
* on move 1(for the pawn it can move 1-2 spaces in front of it it cannot move if a piece is blocking it.
* on move 2+ it can only move 1 space * to take/capture an enemy piece it can move 1 space diagonally.
* when a pawn reaches the the end of the opoosite side of the board it can promote.
* The pawn is able promote into a bishop, a rook, a Knight, or a queen.
Bishop
* The bishop can move and take diagonally
* the bishop cannot move to a space if a piece is blocking it(it cannot jump over pieces).
Knight
* The Knight can only move in an a L pattern(in 3 spaces 1 direction 1 space another direction).
* the Knight has to land on a piece to take it.
* the Knight cannot move to a space that a piece of yours is on.
Rook
* The rook moves and takes in straight lines.
* the rook can't move to a space blocked by a piece.
King
* The king is the most important piece in chess.
* the king can only move and take 1 space that is not blocked by a piece or would put the king in check.
* the king can be put in check if the opponent has a piece that could take it next turn if this happens you must make a move that would get the king out of check.
* the king can be put in checkmate if no matter what you do the enemy has a piece that could take it next turn if this happens you loose.
* if none of your pieces can move and it is your turn then game will be a stalemate(a tie) this also goes for your opponent.
* if you have not moved your king or rook and they have an open path to eachother you can castle and move them to opoosite sides of eachother.
Queen
* The queen is the strongest piece in chess.
* the queen is able to move and take like a king, bishop, and rook all at once.
Golden king
* The golden king is obtained by winning 5 times in a row.
* the golden king replaces your normal king and does not change anything about the game it is purely cosmetic.
Rookshop
* Moves and takes like a rook and bishop.
* obtainment method unknown.
Idk what to name it
* moves and takes like a queen.
* replaces the king.
* the king becomes a much stronger but riskier piece due to now being able to move into spaces that could get it taken.
* when using this piece you must be careful because you will no longer be stopped from moving into checkmate.
Golden idk what to name it
* The combination of the idk what to name it and the golden king.
* acts like an idk what to name it but is golden.
